Men’s mental health can be heavily influenced by their self-concept, which has implications for the way men experience stress. Men traditionally have underutilized mental health resources because of ingrained constructs that value self-sufficiency and toughness. Men’s roles have evolved in recent years and it has become more socially accepted and even required that they engage in more emotionally complex relationships that they perhaps did not experience themselves developmentally. Juggling these multiple roles can increase stress and can result in mental health conditions.
If you are feeling stressed by all the roles you feel expected to excel at, if you are having a hard time finding happiness, or if you have lost sight of your goals and/or values, I can help.
